About Marlon

Bold Leadership for a United Gainesville.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, to two Jamaican immigrants, Marlon is a first generation American. He moved to Florida in the summer of 2011 after the death of his father due to lung cancer. It was here that Marlon developed both his leadership style and devotion to others through actively participating in  Boy Scouts, FFA, Army ROTC, and various community organizations.

After he graduated West Port High School in May of 2017, Marlon moved to Gainesville to attend Santa Fe College and major in Political Science. At Santa Fe, he engaged his community through student government as a senator and the Attorney General. He was Vice President of the Young Americans for Liberty and a Engaged Leader Scholar.

Marlon has worked as a leasing specialist for the Pavilion on 62nd, which has enlightened him to the affordable housing issues that Gainesville has.

Marlon Bruce has a vision for the City of Gainesville that includes fiscal responsibility and government transparency. Marlon Bruce will work for all the citizens of Gainesville and give a voice to those on the Eastside of Gainesville that have long been forgotten. A vote for Marlon Bruce is a vote for a united Gainesville.
